Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein (81751–1829), known as Goethe Tischbein, was a German painter from the Tischbein family of artists. From 1772 to 1773 he traveled through Holland and studied the Old Masters. Thanks to a scholarship from the Kunsthochschule Kassel, he was able to visit Rome in 1779 and continue his studies.
