Artist: Pieter Claesz
Art Movements: Baroque
Pieter Claesz (1596-1661) was a Dutch Golden Age still life painter. He was born in Berchem, near Antwerp, Belgium, where he became a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in 1620. He and Willem Claeszoon Heda, who also worked in Haarlem, were the most important representatives of the "ontbijt", the table piece. They painted with subdued, almost monochromatic palettes, with subtle handling of light and texture as the primary means of expression. For a high quality reproduction we use Art paper in bright white with a matt surface. The art print is adjusted to the frame size. Frame with passe-partout.
