Artist: Wassily Kandinsky

Art Movements: Expressionism

Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (December 16, 1866 – December 13, 1944) was an influential Russian painter and art theorist. He is credited with painting the first purely abstract works. Kandinsky was born in Moscow and spent his childhood in Odessa. In 1896 Kandinsky settled in Munich and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1922 he taught at the Bauhaus School of Art and Architecture. He then moved to France where he lived out the rest of his life, becoming a French citizen in 1939 and creating some of his most important works of art. For a high-quality reproduction, we use bright white art paper with a matt surface. The art print has been adjusted to the frame size. Frame with passepartout.
