Georges-Pierre Seurat (December 2, 1859 – March 29, 1891) was a French Post-Impressionist painter and draftsman. He is known for his innovative use of drawing media and for developing the painting technique known as pointillism. Typical of Pointillism is the well-known painting technique, which is strictly geometrically composed and often appears ornamental.
